And re our South African tendency to "not speak ill of the dead," - that's a principle that's dangerous and allows us to fail to learn some lessons, in extreme cases. We can be sympathetic to families and the inherent humanity of those who were once living while at the same time not overlooking bad ideas or behaviour.
I have no problem with that, what I said was
everyone deserves some dignity when they pass over, lets hope your detractors give you some
and if you have read some of the posts regarding his passing on other guitar forums it would seem that he was a combination of Adolf Hitler, Gengis Khan, Paul Pot, Saddam Hussein, Kim Yung Il, Momhar Gaddafi, Osama Bin Laden, Satan, The Antichrist, Napoleon, Hannibal Lecter etc. etc. And a lot of the comments were from people that had never met or had dealings with the guy!!!!!
The guy was a guitar salesman.
Possibly a "dodgy" guitar salesman, but I have come across a number of salesmen in other fields who were, shall we say, less than generous with the truth!!
