Stumbled on this guy on YouTube and must admit he's one of the few guys who I've watched the "home recording" all the way through. While he's hilarious, you've got to admire his playing at his age. A few stumbles and glitches but very entertaining:

Hello group ... thank you for featuring my videos here on the Guitar Forum. I've been in bands since the 60s and I still play. Got kicked out of the last band because my light shines to bright... so I'm back to the SOLO SHOW.
I started playing music to meet girls .. then I learned how to play ..

My gear .. the mexstrat in the video 1991 with power pickups an american made strat 1972.. Fender Jazz Bass 1966 ..a Yamaha dreadnought.... for effects a DigiTech GNX3 ......amps..Fender Princton Reverb 1981 and a Peavey Bandit.

I play in bars and do the occasional country music festival .. I'm semi retired but the money comes in handy to keep the car on the road... one day I'll have to stop.. but for the moment I got bookings, so I'm still doing it.

It took me 15 years to realize that even though I wasn't the best player, there was a place for me. I believed in my ability to improve .. I enjoyed what I was playing and that's what is important. I play and sing everyday in my studio. Working solo I sing about 40 songs .. now that's a workout.

This guy is so awesome! Looks like he's really enjoying himself AND he's good. Love it ? I hope to be as cool as him when I get old! ?

There's nothing to fear about getting old. I've seen guys the last few year who are in their 60s, even 70s and they are playing as well as they ever have.

I saw an interview recently with Martin Carthy. He was talking about Walter Parden. It doesn't matter if you don't know who Walter Parden is, it's the moral of the story that's important here.

Carthy was talking about meeting with Parden for the first time. Parden was in his 60s by then. Carthy talks about Parden singing a song as they sat around a table. (this is not verbatim, but close enough). "He had his sleeves rolled up and he was leaning forward rested on his arms. As he started singing I saw every hair on his forearms stand up. I thought 'blimey! I hope I still feel that strongly about my music when I get to his age.' Well, I'm older now than he was then and I do still feel that way."

How old's BB King by now? Danny Thompson is past 70 now and still busy (even after a stroke and getting a pacemaker fitted) and still playing marvellously. I've been listening to a Reverend Gary Watson disc recently - he must have been nearly 70 when he cut that, and he still had his mojo working.

Clapton is 66, Beck is 67 this year, Robert Plant will be 63 in August and he's done some of his best work the last few years and has hit the road with a vengence.

Ah! I feel all young now.
