Hi All,
As some of you may know I am trying to sell a 2009 Fender Special Strat on the Forum.
(Insert unashamed plug icon at this point)
Due to lack of response from the members, who must be looking for used Tokai's instead, I bit the bullet and put it on Junkmail and Gumtree.
5 minutes later the sms's started arriving.
Gumtree has a nice little page under the Discussion, Safety Tips tabs.
There is a long list of scams, cons etc etc that are worth looking through.
I punched in the phone number the SMS came from as it looked a bit "dodgy" and low and behold it popped up a number of times on the Gumtree site with warnings about this "scam artist".
Its worth having a look at this page to see exactly what these guys are up to.
If they put the same amount of time and energy into a proper job who knows where they might end up.
Never mind the buyer beware motto, its also seller beware.
Hope this helps someone out there not to get scammed.
GaryMac
PS The Strat is still for sale here
