String gauge on MIM strat...

Trubore

I recently went over to 11's on my strat. I really like them, I love the "tougher" feel, if I can put it like that.

What do you guys prefer and why? Makes of strings would also be interesting...

Thats how I feel... I like my guitar like I like my women ?. How long do they last before losing tone?

Rotos or women? ?

The Rotos give me a month with regular play - about the same as Ernie Balls. Women I find about 20 years (approx. 25 - 45 y.o. - most tend to shrillness on either side of that ?).

Oh Yeah, I play with 11's, sometimes 12's, I like to man-handle her... Sometimes too much... :-[

Not going back up to 12s any day soon, actually prefer Strat one gauge down from Les Paul. Maybe give 8s a try some day to find out what Billy Gibbons does exactly.

On my MIM start I prefer 10's but on my MIA 11's feel better. It's all up to the specific guitar and you should play what feels the most comfortable for you.

Thanks guys, appreciate all the information! Helps a noob like me a lot! :-[

Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky's 9 to 46, or GHS in the same guage.
