The Eagles are one of the greatest bands of all time, period.

If you know the Superbowl then you'll know the R1500/2000.00 ($200) tickets are very good seats, in fact anywhere in the Superbowl is a great seat.

Not a bad price considering the current exchange rate, 8.3 to the Dollar, and it's The Eagles.

Nope. Because to take my family with it's going to cost me more than an ocean cruise for 3 nights. Subjective, but not worth it for me.

My wife was really keen to go until she saw the prices of the concert and a night in the cabana's would cost. So instead, we decided to go to Mauritius for a week.

People will pay it, but a rip off by any other name is still a rip off.

watching hell freezes over DVD on a big screen with a thunderous sound system is gonna have to do it for me ..... i aint going to soccer city thats for sure and sun city just too much money after i have paid for me n wife and a stay over an meal or 2 and a coupla beers ....i cant justify the cost

i like what a previous poster said , save the cash and watch local artists ...that is an excellent idea

They're being advertised as "restricted view" so clearly there's something obstructing one's view of the stage.

Well if it is then get booking.

It's horses for courses. For some it's the chance of a lifetime. Me, I wouldn't go see the Eagles at half the price. No interest. Meh.

I'm not sure I'd shell out that kind of money for Robert Plant, and he's somebody who
a) is a rock legend (for whatever that's worth)
b) I really would like to see.

This bothers me. More with The Eagles than with cover bands. You'd have think that somebody would have come up with a different solo (actually solos) by now. Watching the movie The Song Remains The Same will demonstrate that Jimmy Page got in plenty of solos playing live with Led Zeppelin, but didn't play note-for-note what was on the record.

Though since roughly half the soloing on the original "Hotel California" was played by a guy who's not in the band any more, things may well have changed and Tokai SA might want his money back after the show ?

Hotel California is the only song that's worth anything. I bought the greatest hits album as a teen thinking 'cool now we're gonna rock'. WRONG!! Country with a bit of a lame rock edge, I was very disappointed.

To me they're one of those band where there is an inverse relationship between how successful they became and how interesting the music was. The same goes for Dire Straits. Both groups watered down the ingredients that they emphasised early on (indeed the Eagles threw them away completely) in order to become big-selling, chart-busting, stadium-filling superstars.

Which is their right. It just means that awkward cusses like me won't buy their records.

As the Eagles started to sideline Bernie Leadon I thought they became less and less interesting, more and more bland. Joe Walsh never seemed like an Eagle to me, indeed Walsh and the Eagles never seemed like a band to me, more like a syndicate.

Even if money wasn't an issue I wouldn't pay those prices on principle.

I had the first few albums up till One Of These Nights, didn't enjoy the AOR radio friendly stuff of Hotel California onwards, although always enjoyed playing it on guitar for the first 1000 times at least ?

Joe Walsh is an awesome talent, and like what has been said, I cant understand him in "The Eagles" context.

The Eagles are obviously a big band and can command huge audiences.

And they keep on having these "The Final Farewell Tours" , seems like Microsoft Software releases, we are on The Final Farewell Tour release 3.45A at the moment.

Ah well, there is always The Hollies 50th anniversary tour Next year to look forward too!!!
