eye watering eh ....an the cheap seats at soccer city are 770 ront and believe me the cheap seats are not called that for nothing ....
considering i paid 370 to be close enough to rammstein to smell the mans fear when in the cauldron i may just pass on this and buy another dvd
To put this into perspective ,,a 3 day camping ticket to the download festival in uk next year to see black sabbath , metallica etc etc is going at 190 quid which equates to < 2500 ...how the hell can 3500 be justified for 2 hour performance ..,......for 3.5 i want private lessons , share in the groupies and other back stage activities

I may be completely out of whack here but R 1520.00 for "restricted view seats" seems a trifle INSANE.
Sun City at the Easter weekend.
Probably no accomodation available anywhere even close meaning you will have to drive back the "deathtrap" of a road to either Jozi or Pretoria from Rustenburg and just hope that the cattle and goats are facing your way when they are standing in the middle of the road in the pitch dark. At least that way you have a chance of seeing their "cats eyes" reflecting to warn you!!!!
I remember reading somewhere the Eagles want $ 1 million per show.
Thats why I doubted they would ever hit our shores.
So now you know wherer the "pricing structure" comes from.
:'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

PS I have tickets for the Joburg show!!!!!!!!

Agreed. For that amount I'd expect Don Henley to caddie for me and Gary Player for at least two rounds at the country club.
Squonk
just buy the DVD, about R100 at Musica

In-freaking-sane pricing! They're way past their prime, they stuff around for decades, and now they demand the earth. The tickets for Deep Purple/Uria Heap was a fraction of the cost, two bands I'd rate way better than the Vultures. Just plain greedy, one tour and retire.
Warren
Wow. I wonder if someone hasn't multiplied by 10 by accident? Those are surely the highest concert ticket prices I've ever seen, by a huge margin.
guidothepimmp
Farking hell, for the price of 2 tickets (the mrs n me) I can buy a new guit, some one was high when they came up with that cost model
costafonix
after seeing these ticket prices there's gonna to be a HEARTACHE TONIGHT,,,
so I guess I won't be seeing them in THE LONG RUN,,,
oh well no point in getting cut up about it, I'll just TAKE IT EASY,,,,
I suppose the best tickets are ALREADY GONE???
I'll GET OVER IT,,,,,,, ?

I CAN'T TELL YOU WHY these DESPERADOs wouldn't rather give their fans a PEACEFUL EASY FEELING and TAKE IT EASY on the ticket prices.
It's possible their manager is an OUTLAW MAN with LYIN' EYES and whose anagrammatical motto is 'Oh, I fornicate all'

I would only pay that if Jimi Hendrix came back from where ever he is .......... definitely not for the Eagles.......that's really like "Take It To The Limit..." >☹
Oh, the only group I would pay that kind of money for, would be the ROLLING STONES!!! :yup:
Bob-Dubery
I wouldn't even pay that for the Stones. It's been 2 decades at least since they were the greatest rock 'n roll band in the world.
Some googling will reveal that the Eagles routinely charge stratospheric prices (you will pay more to see Barbara Streisand, but only a little).
Apparently people keep on paying.
So it's their right to name their price, and our right to put our hands in our pockets or vote with our feet.
The play "exclusive" gigs. There was one in London on their last tour: 2000 tickets. 1000ukp a ticket after VAT.
The tickets sold.
Interestingly there's a lot of snob appeal at "rock" gigs these days. Packages that include access to an exclusive bar and an autographed pillow on your seat. That kind of stuff. Not just The Eagles either.
It's all about perceived value I guess - and how much you want to impress your significant other.
The Eagles played at Charlene Wittstock's wedding. I don't blame a band for cashing in on that kind of gig (though it hardly endows them with street cred), but can't they go on a bit easier on the 99%?

I suppose you could say they'll not get the best of your love, that they're dust in the wind.
May I make a humble suggestion....
Take the 1000s saved and over the course of a year go and see some awesome SA bands, theatre, dancing.

I don't think I'll be going to listen to them.. I mean hell, they never come to listen to me.
