Line 6 HD Pro vs X3 Pro

Hi all,

Has anyone tried the Line 6 HD Pro?
Chatted the other day with Manfred about this, but thought I could get some more input.

I'm looking for a neat rack mountable solution.
Would have loved to stay with Boss, but they don't have anything in the rack mountable compartment that is hip and new ?

So my needs will be covered by one of the 2.

Read some great reviews of the HD Pro and X3 Pro.
I know the HD is newer ?

Will be used for playing at home with earphones.

Probably an Axe FX. ? But between the two, the HD Pro - basically an HD500 in a rack box. Latest generation and the amp models are good. Not sure of the price, but it'll be far cheaper than the Axe FX.

Otherwise a Tech 21 PSA 1.1 + a good rack multieffect or two (TC/Eventide, etc.).

Your needs will be very well covered by either the X3 Pro or the HD Pro.
The HD Pro IMO is a few steps up from the X3 Pro in so far as the amp simulations are concerned.

But, depending on how much you want to spend, Muhammad's Axe-FX Standard most probably has the edge on both the Pod units. ?
It may be worth your while spending a few grand more for the Axe.

Thanks Alan, would love a Axe FX, but can't justify the pice for home jamming!
