guitarcases leaning against the wall ?

1. Hi all, the guitarist i jam with stores both his fender strats in guitarcases ,both cases propped up against the wall until next practise. Is this the correct way storing a guitar or should the guitarcase be stored on the floor etc? Just curious........

I personally don't see a problem with it, except gravity causing the case to fall over...

I never store my guitars (even in their cases) on the floor. We've twice had burst geysers, and that water is not cool for guitars. In cases, elevated, that's how I do it.

As long as he's not leaning the guitar against the wall, that's ok. If he was doing that too much, I have a feeling the neck would eventually not like him...

I have guitarstands for both my baby's. Is there anything wrong with that?

Na I reckon that's fine. Some guy once told me it damages the neck, but I don't think I've ever seen any stands that are so badly made they could cause damage. You'd need a fair amount of force to do that...

These I have support the body at the bottom and the back, they don't touch the neck...

ps. They get cleaned regularly

I think the neck damage comes from the rubber on some of these stands reacting with a nitrocellulose finish on a guitar.So folks cover the rubber with old tshirt etc to prevent this.

It could be worse though... you could store all your guits like yngwie does ?
