So what will be the first inter-stellar hit?

Bob-Dubery

The satellite Voyager 1 will soon be exiting the solar system. It carries a gold disc loaded with sound samples representing various aspects of life on earth. Including music.

Chuck Berry is on that disc. So are Louis Armstrong and Blind Willy Johnson. Also pieces by Bach and Beethoven and various folk pieces from around the world.

Voyager 1 was launched in 1977, so there's no Bieber included. Also no metal.

Which of course may have been the sweetest, romantic thing a particular alien ever heard. They'll be wondering why all our music isn't like that rather than the cacaphonic sounds of Beethoven ?

Just imagine their dismay when they realise that Bach ISN'T alive anymore. Maybe they'll have a time machine and can bring him back ?
