You know, he wouldn't bother me half as much as he does if he didn't take himself so seriously. The kid seems to genuinely beliebe the hype about himself. He's a gimmick monger that's making a killing being the flavour of choice for a certain group of fans. Congrats kiddo. We all wouldn't mind had it been us. But plan for the future young man. Your fans will outgrow you someday, so I hope you have a backup persona to make some new ones. The house seems to get really lonely when the party is over and everybody's left hey.....

How is he going to keep that image when he starts balding, growing a beard and starts getting some spots, followed shortly by some serious wrinkles ???. I doubt anyone will be listening to his music in a few years. Just a flash in the pan, pop star that will fade sooner or later. The sooner the better in my opinion.

Exactly! Let me first say, I have NEVER EVER aspired to being a rock star, or even ridiculously wealthy...call me crazy, but there it is. So when I see a kid build a persona(musical or otherwise) on being ridiculously wealthy and famous I think "and...". Because basically that's all it is. He's rich and famous, because he's rich and famous. That's not actually called having a "talent" as far as I know. And the results are pretty distorted, and to me, grotesque.

I think it takes a fair amount of talent to play drums like this at age 9.

I think it takes a lot of talent just to survive the current world he created for himself.
The same "stress" broke up the Beatles, killed Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, etc, etc.
Bieber's survived, he's not an alcoholic, doesn't do drugs, doesn't carry a gun to nightclubs.

But why should we? I dislike this little lame excuse for a role model. I am certainly not going to spend time and bandwidth searching for what is right with him. Besides, I'm not contesting the fact that he has talent. He may have played drums like a boss when he was 4 years old but look what he chose to become. That's why I dislike him.

In 10 years or so he'll pop up on Strictly Come Dancing, be charming and well mannered and maybe even sing a song.
