What's Wrong with Justin Bieber?

I've never heard any of his music (or maybe I have and I didn't know it) and the only reason I know he exists is because of how many people diss him.

To be honest, like Bob said elsewhere, I didn't think he was any worse than any other child star. Miley Cyrus, etc. But then I saw a pic of him and then there was a list of things that I finally understood to be wrong with him. Please add to it, if you can ?

1. Start at the top. The hair. If you had hair like that in my school, you got beat up... bad. No one actually TRIED to have hair like that. What's that called anyway? Hair-dye-brushed-in-your-face-mop-2011? And how many colours are in there? Orange, brown, blonde on the top? WTF?!

2. Are you wearing lip gloss? Really? How have you survived this long?

3. A guy wearing purple is not cool. Okay maybe a spot of purple on a T-shirt or maybe a tie but you're pushing it. But it's not just purple it's... a purple JERSEY! WTF?! Since when do kids willingly wear jerseys? I remember rather being cold than wearing something as uncool as a jersey.

4. The 80s watch. Okay they were cool back when we didn't have iPads and things but, really, what's wrong with a decent analog watch or simple digital watch that doesn't light up the time in pink?

5. The reverse peace sign. Do you not know that you're saying, "Jou ma se p%$s?" Okay you probably don't but still.

6. The plucked eyebrows. I've got a unibrow - it ain't pretty but plucking is just wrong man. It's wroooong.

Great kid, very talented...and his parents are great as well.
Plays drums, plays guitar, writes his own songs, worked his ass off to get where he is today.

Do some research, you'll be amazed at how talented he really is, and how he promoted himself from nothing into stardom.

Would I buy one of his CDs, no, do I dig his music, no.

you cant exspect 10 year olds to understand the complexity of black sabbath, zepplin and zz top.

give them monotonous music, eventually it will become boring, and kids will still go and dig up old school rock.

i love how haters gotta hate. face it he's sold more records than anyone of us have or will. If people buy or listen to his music more power to him. I'll never buy one of his CD's or go to one of his shows, but all power to him. go bieber son! personally i'd rather listen to some good guitar music, but if he does well, more power to him.

Well, while you're facing it that he's sold more records than anyone of us have or will, you could also face it that Jurie Els has sold more records than any of us have or ever will. That doesn't make him a good singer and it certainly doesn't mean that I have to like him. Despite all the records he's sold I still think his music is rubish.

Ok I am no Bieber fanatic... but.....

I wear Jerseys like that...... Purple ones, and yellow ones, and any other color.....

I am not quite sure I follow what is uncool about a jersey or how that could be slightly annoying to someone :/

Hair color, I dont quite have an issue with, nor style.

And Last I pluck my unibrow.... yep now you all know... I have a bit more hair than I like..... so I pluck it, actually I wax it. Because I really dont see a problem with that.....

Bieber music and attitude is what I dislike, and the apparent lack of talent on his part coupled with infinite succes....

I think he doesn't really care about we think. His music was never intended for us.

But, my 5 year old wanted a Justin Bieber cd and my wife talked me into buying it (a double cd nogal). When I got home, I took out a Metallica cd and gave it to him and said, one day when someone asks you what your first cd was you tell them Metallica. Then I gave him his Justin Bieber cd.

The question is not what's wrong with Justin Bieber but what's wrong with music appreciation...
And I honestly believe the answer is nothing, if anything tastes are getting more complex amongst those that care about music as possibilities for exposure broaden and deepen.
Like Mick says... there's always going to be great looking guys with great haircuts that appeal to teenage girls.

i agree with the supporters of mr Bieber , Bob , tokai SA and antirockstar , and a few others and now me that point out quite clearly that in his 17 years which he is now , was way younger when he became famous .........BUT he's a world class "pop" star .......... he's living the dream many of us ..ok all of us had of being world famous and .....wealthy beyond whats expected for anyone at 17 ......

AND of course the "haters" and even people like myself and others who defend him will not like his music since his target market is the 13 - 15 years old schoolgirls......... so no surprises there

and his target market of young teens have all responded well enough to buy his music..and go to concerts...so yeah if you 20 something don't expect to "get" his music.............or like it ......... i assure you the older generations never liked the beatles or the stones...when they broke or in fact any rock band......so why should anone over 20 like bieber ......

but you can't deny he's a superstar ........and that takes fans buying his cd and going to concerts .............so he has a huge fan base to be so popular ........ and frankly i think he "don't care" if the haters don't buy a cd...... over a 100 million other people have

and as for the comments re his looks......... i'm always shocked when i see people being so judgemental on others just based on looks.......... and if you think that all men must be neanderthal looking and have no style.. you're mistaken .........maybe if he starts a few fights , you'll like him more........
welcome to the new world ........where men can be sensitive and pluck eyebrows........ and wear designer fashion and still be men. but hold on thats not the new world.......... pop stars at 17 ish have been looking that way since the 60's

strange that many people see Bieber as a "pansy" (to quote one of the above posts) YET most rock guitar hero's at some time in their careers all pranced around the rock stages in 80's in tights with big hair and most wore makeup......... very manly i guess

come on you allowed to not go to the shows or buy a cd of bieber ........ but don't diss this young man .....he's living the dream...and not your dream but his.... he may not be what you like but millions of other people do like him ............ and thats proved in sales
