I'm trying to import a backing track I converted to a WAV file into my BR-600 but it keeps saying it's an unsupported format. As far as I know, wav files should work. Do I have to convert to AIFF to get this to work or should I use specific settings when I de-encode my MP3 backing track into a WAV format?
I kinda need this as it's modal backing tracks (all in C Major (ie: D Dorian, E Phrygian)) - this is something I've been trying to find good backing tracks for for a while now and now that I have 'em (thanks justinguitar.com ?) I can't use 'em ;(

Check the bit depth and sample rate capabilities of the BR. 16 bit v. 24 bit 41kHz v. 48 or even 96kHz.

It has to be 16bit 44.1 kHz to work

So I checked my WAV files and they were, indeed, 16bit 44.1 kHz. So I'm going to give the BR Wave converter thingie a shot to see if that helps. I downloaded it long ago (at the advice of Don, I think) but forgot alllll about it ? This is what happens when you set out to do something one day, and then let work get in the way for a few months ?

if you are importing a song to play a long with, its nice to find the tempo, then edit in 2 bars as a lead in.
Once imported then you make a rhythm track with the first bar 2/2 at the tempo, and the second 4/4 at the tempo. The rest are blank so as not to interfere with the track. That way you get an awesome count in.

I'm doing badly ? Work has been hectic so I never got 'round to putting those modal tracks on my BR600 so, currently, it's an oversized tuner.
Still love it dearly, though. Not something I see myself selling for a while!

Funny you should mention the tuner function - by faaaaar the worst feature of my BR600. Slow, indecisive, disproportional, useless.

I'm glad it's not just me that thinks so. I need to find my tuner but I think it's long gone - lost between moves.
