Hi All,
I'm new here, I live in Jhb South, and currently don't play any instruments(I used to play the drums, but that teenage phase is over ?)
I'm hoping to be a regular here and keen to make new friends. I just have a few questions ?
I am really interested in learning to play the guitar, and more so Spanish guitar...if that's the correct term.
As this is going to be my first time, i would like to do it right and form the right kind of habits. I have done a bit of googling, but would prefer to get the info from someone I can actually talk to.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for lessons, info, guitar choice and any other information from your experiences.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Romano

Welcome to GFSA.
Is there a specific style you want to learn? Do you want the lessons to be general at first, or to start heading into specific areas early on?
It might be an idea to find a teacher (the questions above might enable somebody to give you pointers) and let them help you with the guitar. They should be able to steer you in a good direction and may get you a slightly better deal.

Hi XRB,
Thanks for the reply. I want to play spanish guitar, and start learning that from the beginning. if you youtube "Aventura - Un Beso", watch that, this would best demonstrate what I would like to play.

Welcome! There are some specialists on the forum for sure... they'll have plenty of tips but as Bob says one of the first tips will be to find a good in-person teacher ?
Have fun!

Hi Romano.
Welcome to the forum.
If I'm not mistaken the Spanish Guitar Style is called Flamenco and the either use a flamenco or classical guitar.
I don't really know the exact differences between the two guitars, but I agree with the others here that there should be someone on the forum who should be able to help you with that.
