Cracking game and cracking soundtrack 8)

Seventhson

Yes it had a great soundtrack. I find synth is the best for sci-fi games.

LooneyAtTheGate

My fave music at the moment: Crysis 2

Even figured this out for guitar and designed a patch on my multieffects for this.. ?

Jack-Flash-Jr

Wow, killer list... I think the DeadSpace sound design was pretty good too but I almost always turn down the music and up vox (get too distracted if the music is too good or too bad ? )

Seventhson

Silent hills tracks where good. But they only work with in the game if you know what I mean ?

BMU

I'm actually listening to the Mass Effect soundtrack on my ipod quite regularly. First time I've listened to any kind of soundtrack like it's a normal album. Really like it.

The funniest thing is I can still remember all those intro songs as played via the PC speaker. ? Space Quest 1 was a winner! *blip blip...brrrrup bada bada blip blip..."

I think I got my first Sound Blaster sometime around Space Quest 4 (having been impossibly envious of my mate's Amiga and his Dad's kitted out PC, complete with a Sound Blaster which showed Wing Commander 2 off to the absolute hilt).

Come to think of it, any Amiga game had nifty soundtracks. ?

Final Fantasy VII had some great music, but I generally hated the MIDI sounds at the time.

No Prince of Persia Sands of Time?

Best soundtrack in terms of serving the game imo is Read Dead Redemption.

Just listen to this: http://grooveshark.com/s/+Theme+From+Red+Dead+Redemption/32Zgbn?src=5 doesn't it make you feel like a cowboy?

Quake 2 also had a pretty good soundtrack

Plants vs Zombies' soundtrack was also brilliant in fitting in with the theme/feel of the game, and responding to the flow (the music shifts to fit the flow of the game, e.g. introducing a drum track when things get hectic).

And my all time favourite game soundtrack song... Doom 2, level 9 "Into Sandy's City", in all its midi glory
