I did have a Peugeot 307 that the disks and pads had to be replaced at 15000km intervals because of warping and subsequent vibrations. Fiat palio had 3 sets of disks and pads by 15000km when I sold it. Both these were manuals.
I think warping is more related to the quality of materials than to the gearbox. My experience though.
+1. there's a reason 'peugeot' sounds like 'pooh-go'. bought my 307 for 90k
with fsh, spent an additional 25k on the dang-blasted thing, traded it in on my a3 and (touch wood), couldn't be happier so far.
giggsy, auto is the way to go, until you start heading up the cc-count. smaller-engined cars are great, but an auto will start chomping into your fuel budget sure as nuts in a bigger-engined car. or, maybe, it's just the way i drive. yes, that's also possible.
