So I'll put up pics tomorrow. I put them into my tokai tonight and had trouble with one of them, likely due to my excitement, also managed to scare the daylights out of the monkey by introducing a very strange wiring scheme in his guitar ?
I got a Mule neck and Black dog bridge with nickel covers. My reasoning was for a strickly vintage style LP sound with PAF style neck pup and a hotrodded PAF style thing in the bridge. And yes they deliver.
First thoughts:
Both pickups have higher output than the stock tokai (I believe they are mk iiis) pups. The Black dog significantly so.
I was looking for a clearer brighter neck pup with harder attack and the Mule is that but maybe less bright than I hoped. I guess my Tokai is just a mellow guitar in the end.
The BD is big-voiced and fat. Think Joe bonamassa bridge tone. great.
By the time I got them in it was gettimg a bit late to let the 18 watt loose properly, it is also a bit darker sounding at low vvr settings.
Ill post some clips when I get the recording stuff going.
