Hey everyone ?
I want to buy a new acoustic/electric guitar that I can afford. I have been looking at Cort, but dont know much about them. Are they good guitars? I need one to plug-in so that I can start gigging with my band. Would this one be a good option?
They have a special at Paul Bothner for this specific one:
CORT CJ5X HBS
Including a FREE CGC97-CJ deluxe case
Normal retail: R6,190. Special while stocks last: Only R3,995
Can anyone shed some light on this subject please?
Thanks,

IMO , Corts are great guitars i bought one a few months ago , and it still astounds me .
try it out and see if you happy with it's sound and how it handles . but i would highly recommend them

That's quite a big guitar Li. Definitely try it out instore and see if you like it - and try others in the same price range. One thing I have found with the Cort is that you often find a guitar that is selling for less that is actually a nicer guitar when you play it. I'll also usually try as many of the same model as I can get my hands on - sometimes one of them jumps out as better than the other "identical" guitars. That's the nature of the beast.
I myself use a Cort Earth 900 parlour sized steel string and haven't found anything to touch it at anywhere even close to the price.

I don't know that specific model, but Cort's are great, you get a lot of guitar for your money, not like big brand guitars where you pay a premium just because it has "xxxx" on the headstock. Go there and play it, get a feel for the size and the sound.
I have a Cort MR720F Dreadnought, and I am more than happy with it.

Thanks all of you!! Just wanted to hear what you all say! I love the guitar, there is another model, a bit lower in price, not so big and great sound. I am already in love with it. Will go back and play as many of them as I can before I get one.
Really appreciate all the input! ?

best thing to do is go into the shop and play every guitar there that appeals to you(doesn't just have to be cort)...you could LOVE how one looks and go in and buy it and when you get home and play it you realize when you bend the high E string your fingers go under the B string(happened to a friend with a IBANEZ)
so my advice,go piss off your music shop and play there for hours and demand to play through a marshall stack 8)

I just called the store and spoke to the salesman that suggested it. He welcomes me to come and play as much as I want, and try as many as needed with an amp set up too!
Anyway, so that is good. I will bash on all of them, but the one I have my eye on is the one I played for about an half an hour. It is the SFX-1. It is the one that I can afford.
Cool guys, thanks,
