Thanks XRB, what a week. Our email distribution system for TJ's shows will be down for another 3 days, lighting problems to sort out at TJ's, wife had serious surgery and will be in hospital for another 10 days.
The upside is that we will have one of the best evenings of the year tomorrow.
I first heard Rob Warren and his brother playing at White Mountain a couple of years ago. Mesmerising stuff.
Mike Rowe and Wayne Coughlan are brilliant and a very popular act at TJ's.
Ed Oldfield plays fingerstyle blues in the Rev Gary Davis style.
Johanna and Jane play instrumental stuff from flamenco to classic to folk. Some good Doc Watson stuff too.
It will be the best 25 bucks you ever spend.

Any comments on the evening from those who attended?
Some "feedback" on the cable problem... We have been experimenting with Neutrik "Silent" and Amphenol "Switchplug" connectors to make changeovers easier without the popping usually experienced when plugging/unplugging a guitar. On Thursday this problem showed itself in grand style. It seems that on guitars with worn or cheap jacks the collar on the cable connector ejects the connector if the guitar jack does not exert enough pressure on the indentation on the tip part of the connector. The Amphenol Switchplug connectors eject more easily than the Neutrik Silent connectors because the collar spring is stronger.
Hmmm.... ☹ Going forwards I will continue to use these connectors but check each guitar to see if it can retain the Silent/Switchplugs. They just make things so much easier for the sound guys.

I enjoyed the Warren brothers. The bass player had quite a good line in subtle visual humour. They gave a confident and engaging performance. Strong vocals.
Ed Oldfield is always worth catching. You don't hear a lot of that style of playing these days. Quite and old-fashioned style. He even did a Jackson C Frank number - Blues Run the Game. Bastard! I was going to do that song.

And I thought Mike Rowe showed his skill & taste in the way he supported & complemented Wayne Coughlan. Was the sound super good or did he have a bit extra in his vocal tank?

He did seem to ramp it up a bit. There were quite a lot of effects used. Wayne is performing a lot with Brian Finch these days, I want to catch one of those concerts.
