No digital in a DRRI. Don't believe everything you read on GFSA/the internet. My DRRI was marked R23k when I bought back in 2008. That was retail and prices have come down at times due to stronger ZAR ... and of course there's the infamous discount. If you time it right for their annual birthday special, I've seen as much as 50% on Fender products.

I saw one at louis pawn shop for 14k... looked in pretty nice condition

well, in europe these retail for about 11k and you wont find one second hand below 8k

i dont know if silverface DR are cheaper atleast thats not the case in europe and havent seen one in SA so far in the last year

That's not digital Mike, it's solid-state, but analog, not digital. Optocouplers are solid-state too. All the good tremolo pedals are analog solidstate too.

Let me say again - No digital in a Deluxe Reverb RI. And it would be a shame to for Stoner Riff to avoid looking at/trying what is probably the best in-production gigging amp based on bad info.

Oh, my apologies. I really misunderstood that.

I'd still rather buy one that's a year old and get a real optocoupler.

I hooked a friend up that swopped his vox ac15c1 for a deluxe reverb silverface! Bargain I would say! He recently sold it for R7000.

I have a Silverface '71 DLR and I can't think of parting with it.. 20k would be too little. It's an astounding amp.

The new DLR reissue is €1170 in Germany, so we're talking R13k.. ?

just be careful of the re issues......try a few b efore you buy and pick the best one ............ i play on one regularly at my local music store which i use when i try out guitars there .....(selling for about 13K i think don't hold me to it ..thats after discount think ticket price is closer to the high teens or 20's ... it's loud just on 3 it's filling a biggish shop BUT the reverb does not sound like the reverb on the original ones...far more clinical and i needed to crank the reverb to 7 -8 to get just a little on the sound....... so that disapoints me each time i play it ....and i ussually love a luch fender tube reverb but the re issues one really sounds different . and i found the tone quite harsh compared to other older fender amps ..still decidedly fenderish but harder ....tone is too difficult to put in words..........as i said try a few re issues maybe just this one is somehow flawed..... and the exception rather than the rule..... and anyway it does not seem to be selling cos it's been in the store for over a year and it was brand new............

but hey they great amps and i guess nothing is perfect except maybe an original point to point made deluxe reverb one in mint condition ?

Speaker not broken in? Could be if you were the only one who played it during the year, and never past 3 on volume...

and as for your comment re .... not going over 3........ if i owned a deluxe reverb i doubt it'd go too far over 3 ever maybe 4.5 :-\ (stop laughing...... i'm old and play jazz )

but the reverb not sounding great did bother me cos since i been into tube amps , i have fallen in love with tube/spring reverb and trem and this one dissapoints .....

however it's still the best amp in the store at the moment ...... they have some other 50 and 100Wtube amps but the deluxe is still my favourite 'go to ' amp to test out guitars ect .......dispite my gripes HOWEVER let me state i'm griping about this one only ...and hope it's a bad one in the bunch for some reason cos i've played on older ones that are "heavan" to my ears
