Assistance to identify this guitar

Any of you know which Gibson this is and roughly what this could be worth? Mate of mine has it and is thinking of selling. Serial: 91146503

Looks like a Nighthawk, but the floyd is a very strange addition ??? It's like the bastard child of a Nighthawk and an Axxes model ? Pretty cool really. Tell your friend to charge ONE MIRRION DORRARS! ?

Yep, most certainly a Gibson Nighthawk Custom, made at Gibson's Nashville Plant, rolled off the production line April 24th 1996. I'd say it's worth around R10,000 depending on its condition.

These guitars are quite popular - always in demand on Flea-bay with high prices being paid for vintage examples in MINT condition.

A word of warning - they are supposed to be notorious for having a bad joint between the neck and headstock. (what I've been told)

There's a slight difference between one of the new, reissue, Epiphone Nighthawk Customs and an original Gibson one. That curly-flame maple top is the real deal and not a veneer. Gibson released these guitars in the '90s then stopped producing them, not sure when that was. I believe they've recently started making them again, and Epiphone have released a budget version as well

This applies to almost all Gibsons and Epiphones...

That's one of the higher end Nighthawk customs. You cannot compare the price to an Epiphone model. Go check out what Nighthawk customs are going for on ebay. But he may have trouble selling a niche model like that for it's full value in SA.
