Does anyone know of a good local recording forum?

There have been one or two, but they all died the death after a while.

You saying we're not good? Or are you looking for more guys that can compare Focusrite, UA, Great River pres, et. al.? I'm hoping we get more guys onboard here that we can eventually cover the recording side as well as we do the guitar (not that my GAS needs any more inspiration ?). We do already have some pretty knowledgeable guys around like Mo Facta, MattA and a couple of others (although I still miss Neps).

No, you're great. I'm actually looking for more places to sell some old recording gear. It seems every one here is very guitar orientated, while Gumtree and Junk mail gets me a lot of unreliable people wanting to take chances. I know quite a bit about recording and would like make more of a contribution myself. :?

Yeah, I have a few items up in the Studio & recording section myself (interface, pre, rack mixer) at silly prices to move it. Studio stuff does move here (I've recently bought a Digi 003 and a pair of matched SDCs and sold quite a bit of other studio stuff), but it's got to be the right thing at the right time for the right person.

Anyway, this is probably a better place to move the entry-level stuff than a more specific recording forum where the focus will likely be on upgrading from existing entry- or mid-level gear. Gumtree is... well... Gumtree - it has the widest reach but far more scammers and er... special people.

Have faith! The recording thread seems to be growing popularity!
but ja it is unlikely you can start a serious debate on high end pre's and such as it mostly home/bedroom recording oriented!

What did you buy the Digi 003 for? Using it as a midi/daw controller for sonar or an interface for Pro Tools?

I dunno, it might not be as busy a thread as a guitar-related one, but I think there are enough guys with knowledge that we could get some kind of discussion going with a few opinions.

What did you buy the Digi 003 for? Using it as a midi/daw controller for sonar or an interface for Pro Tools?

It's the 003 Rack. I'm getting it as an interface for Sonar.
