NGD Fender XII 66

kapepper

hi eveybody

not really looking for a 12 string but knowing that the guitar can and is used as a six string and i coldnt pass on this deal ?

yup, there was a lot of excitement when i saw the guitar very light weight, neck was a bit thicker then my 66 coronado but similar to my es 135
, nice condition, original case, instruction manual, well difficult to resist

I did the (first) owner an offer (similar to what you should pay for an fender avri series in europe) and he accepted and went home with this beauty:

it is set up now as a six string but as soon as I have time will put some 12 strings on it

cheers!

Beautiful ?

Have always had a soft spot for these strange Fenders, seems like they're scarce as hen's teeth too. Can't be too many of them in SA!

What a score. Congrats. Definitely you want to use it as a 12 string. It's wasted as a 6 string. You liberated it. You should check Phil X's demo of one of these on youtube.

i also was very surprised that I saw it on Junkmail... these are guitars that pop up on ebay in the US, but even in europe they are not many (and thet were only made between 65-69)
I am stilllooking to 12 string it, but went to musica here in pretoria for some electric 12 strings and they did not had any ???
But it plays very nice as a six string and was done more often apparently (and the fender maberick and fender custom, were butchered fender XII changed into 6 strings)

here my other 1966 fender
