Over the course of my life i think i have bought this about 4 times ...and i dont have a copy in my library ,sacrilige...i know.

first copy i got was from my grandparents for my 16th birthday , an illicit copy fresh off the press smuggled into the country by my rogue pirate father who had just returned from a visit to the ole country.

Over the years i have bought copies an they either bent lent out or stolen or whatever but somewhere along the line they gona AWOL.

Was at look an listen yesterday , i see they have the whole pink floyd catalouge .....one the floyd okes must be in financial poo ? ..my lovely wife had my wallet so no buy but will get it today.

R179.99 ..... well priced i reckon.

'Twas the album that opened my ears to the possibilities of recording. I must have worn out two or three vinyl copies in my day, own a West German LP, two copies on CD and even have a DTS surround sound version somewhere (.ape format - ripped from the original quadraphonic mix apparently).

For me, the album that turned me from a drum fanatic into a guitar fanatic!

Lethe

Learnt how to play most songs on that album in high school. Love it. My copy is also MIA.

like an old glove , i bought it , put it on the car stereo and just knew the nuances and all the bits an pieces..... it fitted so well....

seems the remastered version is slightly bass ier than previous version i had, is it my ears, the car stereo or is it indeed bass ier

I wonder if ol' Roger will bring the current show here? He keeps on adding dates all over the world.

Bob

Still definitely my favorite album of all time. I remember being blown away all over again the first time I saw the movie.

Have any you lot worked out what it all means yet?
Not even Bob Geldof who was the lead actor could have determined what it was all about after reading the script.
Quite hectic stuff ???

Pretty much, although it's pretty ripe with a lot of obscure symbolism. I even know what the secret message is and the other hidden/subtle stuff. ?

Many people find the album and film depressing, but It's just too damn good musically, production and engineering wise to get me down.

I wish they would release a full version (was originally a triple album's worth - much of which is in the movie). I love both the extended version of Empty Spaces and When the Tigers Broke Free (ahhh... the Welsh male choir always makes my horrors pilate ?).
