Hey guys, been looking around at 12 string just because I think they sound amazing!!!! Is anyone on the forum a hardcore 12 string fan??? I heard a few clips of the Guild F-512's and F-412's and WOW they are ridiculously good sounding. I had no idea that some top end 12 strings (like the F-512) have backs and sides made from rosewood and tops made from spruce! Here's one video of F-412....enjoy ?

I'm a hardcore electric 12-string fan, but if I were to get an acoustic, it would probably be the 512 (which says a lot as I'm not a fan of steel acoustics or jumbos - it's the size thing as I'm only little).
In the clip he's miked it up well - SM57 straight at the soundhole for "body" and SM81 coming in from the neck side for more of the top end. It's a bit too ambient for me because of the vocal mic, but that's the tradeoff recording voice and guitar simultaneously.
