Battlefield 3

So does anyone play this awesome game?

Its great. The sound effects sound like the real thing. Great number of weapons to choose from and the graphics are mind blowing ?

+1

Just hope my PC can play it. As a matter of fact, I had to reserve my GAS funds for PC upgrade funds ?

I'm waiting for exam to finish then I think I'm gonna get it. What pc are you running it on though?

I have this:

3gHz Core2duo cpu
4 gig RAM
ATI Radeon 4800 Series

On the can I run it website my pc sort of makes it half way been satisfying the minimum requirements and the recommended requirements.. I don't wanna buy it if it runs like ass!

ActionArnie

Played all the Battlefields basically and was gonna skip this one due to PC inadequacies when a multiplayer action clip just before the release had me salivating and I decided to upgrade.

Runs slick now on "High" now at native res (1680x1050).

PC:
Q6600 @ 3.1GHz
4GB RAM
Nvidia GTX560

All I upgraded was RAM from 2->4 and gfx from 8800GT to the 560. And of course I had to get Windows 7. Made a truly massive difference to the BF experience. Post your nic in-game, mine is ActionArnie78

I also have the 8800GT and intend to go to the 560GT. How does the 560GT look/feel/operate? Will it last a good while? Im hoping that this new upgrade of mine will be able to play loads of games for the months to come

I'm hoping it'll cope with new games for some time. It is firmly a mid-range card where the 8800GT when I got was at the higher end back in 2007.

Its a vast improvement over the 8800GT for DX10 games, and with DX11 in BF3 it doesn't break a sweat. What I've found so far with DX9 games is there's actually not a great deal of difference between the GTX560 and the 8800GT. BF3 went from doing 15->25fps with everything off to around 50+ fps with everything on high.

Another big plus is its MUCH quieter with its nice large fan. That tiny little fan on the 8800 used to spin-up and scream like a banshee when it was pushed.

Wouldn't it just be cheaper to buy a PS3 than to upgrade a pc every time a new game comes out?

Killing Floor anyone?

Seventhson

I just play bf 3. I actually got it for free ?

G-Man

Yep, runs pretty solid on my oldish gaming rig

Core 2 Quad Q8400
Ati Radeon 5850
4GB DDr2 800

Runs everything maxed out excepting for AA.BF 3 Multiplayer is INSANE, I never touch the single player on most games these days anyway ?

Danny-B

I cannot wait for Skyrim, and in the future, Borderlands 2 and GTA V.

Seventhson

Hahaha. Just had an epic session now. Our team was on the verge of losing we had 11 points left the enemy had 34 we managed to win 8)

For me that has to be 2142. The titan mode was just amazing. Would be super sweet if Dice made 2143 with the frostbite 2 engine.

Other online games other than the BF's that I've played include COD4 and I'm a regular on the rFactor SGS server. Offline nothing beats the Civ series and football manager ?

needleshy

My BF3 name is Needleshy, if anyone wants to add me as friend

FRALIN-FAN

I am a BF2 "veteran" played something like 1600 hours ashamed to admit. Just got BF3 and started playing online yesterday.

Very cool I must say.
