A bit odd that they said they'll only insure for R5,000.00
I sent a few guitars to the USA in the last few months using EMS and insured for R15,000.00 each.
I also shipped my 66 Vibrolux Reverb to the USA using EMS, no problem, arrived 4 days later.
If you use EMS, go there yourself, to the International Mail Centre, just behind Emperor's Palace.
I've never had a parcel not arrive in the USA when using EMS, so the R5,000.00 insurance is a safe bet.
Mmm driving to the International Mail Centre, just behind Emperor's Palace might be a bit of an expensive drive from Durban but I did go to the main Customs/International EMS branch in Durban and they said R5000 max.
Is there some special type of service I must request or some special shipping option I must ask for?
I did ask the guy repeatedly about the insurance limit because I also thought it was much higher and they said R5000.
But that being said Post Office employees are not often the sharpest tools in the shed.
Bless their hearts ?
