Renesongs · 2011-10-31T14:03:33+00:00

OK for this one you only have one vote please vote by Friday so we can get the next challenge started And here they are -
Herewith my entry for the October Challenge. Very enjoyable theme this month! http://www.box.net/shared/0aaxoop64a4r9afabvaz

http://www.box.net/shared/txrca8bb2zdzz3xznsp9 K dude, here is my entry. I hope I win this time.

Hey hey, Heres my entry for this one, wow, quite a difficult challenge i must say, it seemed like a cool topic til i started putting some ideas down, then it got pretty hectic... I hope my entry fits in with the theme, i used a Larivee for the acoustic part and my Squier Strat for the lead bits... http://www.box.net/shared/mzrmaqvzoh2hixz5bjn3 Anyway, im super excited to see what you guys came up with... GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU

Here is my entry for the October challenge. Wrote this clip for the Challenge. Did one run on the Ibanez Talman and one on the Epiphone Goth Explorer. Chose the electric version in the end. So it's me on the guitar playing through an acoustic setting on the pedal, thru the Marshall. Enjoy! http://www.box.net/shared/sb98azkvhoffpdavbzu9

Long time listener, first time, err, entrant (?). Very cool challenge with a very detailed description. My track for the Oct challenge: http://www.box.net/shared/0eafh502vo6k0v88lmef Recorded with a Line6 toneport. I had that old noir type detective film style in mind.

Okay here is my entry. http://soundcloud.com/highway-chile/in-the-alley In my head I imagined my version of a comic book style, modern film noir, ultra violence, super dark humor type of deal...I think? :o :D I see him as staring at the dead girls body at first, the evil washing over him........ and then gets up to go get some payback. Nothing except guitars....open slack key tuned acoustic, electric guitar, acoustic resonator with the tone just destroyed on purpose...... and a highly chorused lap steel guitar....... along with string scrapes and various guitar effects.etc. I literally did this in a few hours (can't you tell? :P) as I left things to the last minute due to being almost overwhelmed with stuff going on. Very chuffed to have pipped Deefstes! ?

Yeah, that was great. Magnificent entries there both yours and Highway's. If you take part in more of these challenges you'd pip me more often ?

The only thing I find really weird is how Stu didn't win this challenge ?

Aaaaaah Crap. I Downloaded the entries yesterday and just quickly screened them. Wanted to listen properly before I voted, and now that boat has sailed :'(
Well done to all the entrants though.

Hammeron

Just 2 things - with all due respect:

1} The winner of the challenge gets to choose the next topic but should not be able to enter said challenge.

2}The voting period should include at least one weekend.

Just a thought, use it don't use it.

Listen to them anyway and tell us who you would have voted for.

I don't mind the winner submitting an entry for his/her own topic. The whole challenge is, after all, just for fun. We have so few people taking part in the challenges these days that, if we're going to start imposing rules on who may or may not enter, we might just kill the whole thing altogether.

I like that.

What she said.

I still think we should go back to the weekly comp.
The problem with a whole month is that you think you have so much time and keep putting it off till next week.
The weekly comp was easy, by Sunday night you entry must be in. One week to vote, then it all starts again

I also cant believe I didnt win. Ive put it down to two things though

1. The votes where rigged

2. People on GFSA suck and cant make good decisions.

I think its number 1 though

Highway-Chile

I sent two PM's to Rene yesterday....one regarding the rules and how close he wanted me to stay....basically if 2 minutes is still okay and 5 instruments....2 guitars, bass, drums/percussion and keys.

I also then sent in my November challenge.

I hope they got through okay, they are showing in my Outbox so I presume with the time difference he just has not read them yet.

For what it's worth, I thought H.C's was technically the best and I enjoyed Stu's the most.... But my vote would have gone to Deefstes.
Congrats to all the entrants though, great stuff all around hey.

Highway-Chile

Thanks Chris and thanks all for your votes.

Noooo, that would've made the difference between being pipped by Hammeron and being unpipped by Hammeron!!!! ?
