Soilwork - As We Speak cover. Need mix advice (Metal)

Hi Guys

I've decided to do a Soilwork cover and eventually ended up doing As We Speak.

My ears are really shot by now!!!
Can anyone give some advice on improving this mix?
espescially guitars and drums.

Then I need someone to do vocals over this.
I think it would be interesting to see what everyone comes up with

It sounds pretty good to my ears. What's yr setup? Only thing I'm noticing on my speakers is a slight boominess to the rhythm guitars. Maybe a slight EQ adjustment is needed on the guitars on the lower end - that's all I can suggest ?

Good job on the solo, it sounds excellent! Nice, tight playing all around.

What did you use for the synths?

Thanks ? Yeah I've already sorted out the lowend on the guitars.

Guitars - Ibanez XPT700 > TSE-808 > TSE X50 > Impulses and some tape saturation
Synths - Reason 5
Drums - Superior drummer - Metal Foundry.

I've made a few changes to the mix though.
Brightened the guitars up a bit for a more harsh sound and used less reverb on the drums.

Will post a bit later. The brighter guitars made a big difference. ?

Lol, my setup is pretty much the same - Schecter C-1 Hellraiser -> TSE-808 -> TSE X50 -> Impulses -> AcmeBarGig CabEnhancer

What exactly is tape saturation? I've never used it before (although I've heard the phrase being thrown around now and again).

The x50 is a beast! Best amp sim (free or otherwise) that I have ever come across.

At the moment I'm using EZdrummer for drums, but I'm considering moving to Steven Slate.
