the most famous guitar in cape town, and no one wants it. ?

ever since i can remember, this guitar was advertised on gumtree and cape ads, for the last 2 years i think

so either its a scam or the person hasn't given up after 2 years of advertising the guitar in the ads everyweek.

look its a total crap guitar, but really.
i think in the 2 years the price has only dropped with about R200.

i am amzed it hasn't made its way to guitarforum classifieds ?

anyway. haha. just thought it would be funny to post it.
P.S: the person sells antique whiskey flasks and megaphones as well.........

This one I see as a 'new' ad at least every second day on both Gumtree and Junkmail - fairplay though, I have noticed a price drop of R2000 over the last few months ?

Anyway, out of experience, and now referring to the les paul standard, it dont think nobody wants that guitar (well, i for sure dont like that color) but trying to sell in SA gear which is more expensive then a 1000 Rand is MAJOR HASSLE

look at Brents ES 335, beautifull guitar and great price... over six months he already tries to sell this guitar ?, so you can actually put his guitar also here in the list ?

Sometimes people just want their price and will hold on until they get it. It depends on circumstances to a degree. If you need the tom, or if you're leaving the country and everything must go then you might drop your price or be open to some horsetrading. But in other circumstances you might prefer to hold out until you get what you believe the item to be worth. After all, you can advertise on gumtree for free.

The same can apply to buyers. You can have your price and hold out for that. It depends on how long you can afford to wait. Some folks are in a position to play a long game.

Totally agreed. If the market is down you need to decide how badly you want the money. If you don't need it that badly, why not hold on?

I mean R16,000 is not unreasonable for a Les Paul in this market (see what a new one goes for). But it's a tough sell in the current market.

Is that semi-acoustic (looks pretty acoustic to me) guitar an Ibanez? I like old vintage Asian 12 strings. I just don't have the spare cash to indulge myself. I suspect many others feel the same.

it looks like japanese made, maybe not ibanez branded but one of the other brand names

Look at my 1974 ibanez concord 12 string... was asking 2,000.00 rand which is a nice price for such a guitar, in the end i sold it for 1250.00 rand (needed more the space then the money)

Ha ha ha, its funny. Ive seen the 12-string on every time I go. I always got happy cause I was like, yes, there is still a chance for me to get it... next time.

There is also, of course, the white Sanchez guitar which makes a regular appearance on Gumtree (without a pic...) The guy has dropped from R2500 to R1500 over time and I always mean to tell him that he is asking way too much... SX, Squier, Ibanez and Corts regularly go for less than that. And I dont know if you have ever played a Sanchez, but I picked up one new for R200 as a project guitar, and even that was steep.

Oh yes the white sanchez. Will also swap for an Ipad, a trip to the Bahamas and a ps3.
