Is the soldering that I see inside the cavities for copper shielding?

Yes, it's solder on Copper sheet for shielding..

Take note, Roy says copper plating. It's not the same as the plain old copper tape stuff us regular folk use ?

of course to be technically correct it's copper sheet not plate (as in thick plates) but I am sure you know what I mean. ?

I am sure there must be a reason why he uses this technique but as in most matters regarding guitars, there will probably be some who will differ with his opinion. and I'm no expert on this so we will wait for the GFSA brains trust to help me out here...

But I'd assume the increased thickness decreases resistance to an extent and MIGHT make a tonal difference? Otherwise, it just looks THE business. ?

Looks ok except those holes where the pick up's normally go. Great place to store plectrums though.

Um, taking a closer look I appears the neck has parted company from the bodywork? Great air guitar, I guess.

I remember that promise Chris and will certainly keep it - will not be your normal traditional sounding Strat though so you may be "offended" ? ? ?

Thx, should be here by end of November. Pickups arriving next Thursday and then it's pretty much done and will be shipped.

Pickups were delayed somewhat but arrived on Thursday (just a different week ?) so should be all finished and shipped within the next two weeks.

Ron still has to do the setup but was eager to get me pics asap. The only thing I am not crazy about are the pearloid topped knobs but I will wait until it arrives before changing them.

I am also very keen to hear the Lindy Fralin Split Blade"Blues" pickups. The guitar should arrive in a few weeks ...
