Flat4... As far as I can remember it's "insulboard" from Sagex. I can't remember exactly what density and thicknesses I ended up using as there was a shortage at the time so I took what I could get :?

Alan... Thanks man ?
The 2 walls aren't shown in the pics. It's basically 2 seperate walls for each room divided by a biggish air gap. Both walls filled with f/glass insulation and double layers of gypsum board on either side.
I know Alec from Truesound quite well
http://www.truesoundacoustics.co.za/ and he gave me a good deal on the Auralex but it still was quite pricey ? It's good to know there are some cheaper alternatives available locally.
Only problem is if bands practice in properly treated rooms, they are going to be thrown by the real-world cruddy acoustics when they first gig. Cheesy
We've been having this problem lately so I know exactly what you're talking about. A solution that I can think of is getting your own sound guy (which we've just organised ?) that knows your sound and can tweak accordingly in a live setup. Not so easy as not all live venues arround town have great acoustics but it's a start I guess.
I would have gone DIY with panel traps (you have the rigid fibreglass and wood already - just need some speaker cloth to make them look respectable). Diffusors I'd buy - too much hassle to make them properly (I use well stocked book cases as my diffusors Cheesy).
I went this route for our own "private" room upstairs 8). Pics and info to follow soon!!!
