not big on pedals, but needing reverb for my vox ac4tv. thoughts?

howdy. having recently sold my blues jnr, i am currently stuck with my vox ac4tv. (and when i say i'm stuck with it, it's not like i'm regretting the puchase - i love this little thing!) i have the head 'n cab version - not that there's too much of a difference, it's just a 12" versus a 10" speaker in the combo. the blues jnr had built in reverb, and it's the only feature i'm missing on this li'l amp, so i'm considering getting a pedal. it needs to be on the inexpensive side, or extremely worth it and versatile, because my next amp purchase is likely to be the albion tct35c, which does have built in reverb. so this pedal purchase would need to suit my purposes for both.

other pedals i might use with it - boss bd-2, vox wah, and maybe because i have it, but am highly unlikely to use it, boss ds-1.

i'd love to have your thoughts, thanks

I for one, would love the Boss Fender FRV-1 Reverb pedal!!

Not that the Albion's reverb is bad, its actually very nice, but it would be cool to be able to play with all the settings on the Fender pedal!
Last time i enquired about stock though, there was a problem with no stock :-\
And the distributors are never in a hurry to get stock...

But i have searched pro guitar shop, and the solidgold fx surf rider would also be on my list... pity its $225USD..

EHX holy grail is still one of the cheapest, best 'verb pedals around. They can be unreliable, but they sound great. Fantastic hall setting, and a very warm spring sound. The newer Nano version also doesn't take up half your pedal board.

Good suggestions so far.

Inexpensive - keep a look out for the Boss FRV-1. They were mostly sold out at under R1K around Cape Town - I think the importer was massively overstocked or something and they were quite a slow starter, but a surprisingly good spring reverb emulation.

The Holy Grail Nano is a good sounding pedal and offers you both spring and a hall.

Otherwise, The Hall of Fame is a very flexible, good sounding pedal. A bit more expensive, but amazing array of features for the money.

Digitech Hardwire also a well featured reverb for the money. The late Gary Moore liked it so that's an endorsement.

so far all, haven't had a chance to go looking, and i kinda really need to offload the highway 1 first. but when i do, i'll fill y'all in. chances are i'll start with the boss and the hall of fame. if i don't come right there, i'll probably have a look at the digitech or the nano. from the reviews and the on-the-ground research i've done, i think i'll end up going with the boss if i can find one: seems like the best of the bunch for my purposes.

Their plates and halls seem nicer than the HOF (not surprising - Lexicon algorithms), but the HOF has more algorithms to choose from, can be updated with a downloaded toneprint, and is the same price. So, YMMV...
