music that makes you feel nothing

Conrad · 2011-10-19T14:05:18+00:00

Is there music that makes you feel neither 1 way or the other? If so what is it and why do you think you react that way? I am referring to music that does not disgust you but also does not appeal to you in any way. If anyone is wondering. I am asking this because I suddenly realised there there is some music that I would hear on the radio that seems to just make a dead centre neutral impact on me.

I'm not so sure it's the same thing in Kack's case.

Awwwe, I had always thought you had at least a inclination of decent music. Do you only listen to brütals then? Cause you obviously don't know many bands ?

OK I'll admit the Beatles made a lot worth listening to especially toward the end, but, in all honesty, Marc Bolan ?.....c'mon

This is complete Blasphemy. ?

Marc Bolan was a genius!

You need to listen to some of the albums to understand this
Electric Warrior, T.Rex, The Slider even some of the earlier Albums are good stuff "My people were fair and had sky in their hair.....", "Prophet, Seers and Sages..."

He was one of most influential artists of the late 60's and early 70's

I cant believe I am now having to defend Marc Bolan as well as the Beatles ?

It's meant to be shallow. That's the weird thing about it. His music was a celebration of all the simple, feeling stuff in Rock - the big, hooky riffs, the showmanship, the hair.

You can say it's shallow, but you can just as accurately say that it's unpretentious. Let's say there are quite a few metal bands that care a lot more about drinking beer than they do about global armageddon and the reaper riding across the land that fills their lyrics. Bolan cared about being a fabulous rock star. And his music is about fabulous rock stardom.

Don't want to belabour the point but check out Ringo here:

Anyway, enough ragging ?

How can this be shallow? ?

...Beneath the bebop moon
I wanna croon with you
Beneath the Mambo Sun
I got to be the one with you

My life's a shadowless horse
If I can't get across to you
In the alligator rain
My heart's all pain for you...

The first song on Electric Warrior. He had such awesome little tunes and chops and licks that he put together.

I hadn't realised that Bolan designed the world's first "random couplet generator" software.

You're right. He was a genius.

Group later T-Rex with early AC/DC, throw in a little Glam fashion (in)sensibility and you'll understand. Remember even Queen were doing the glam thing. ?

The Beatles - I was raised to dislike them (my mother's one musical blind spot) and am still not a huge fan. But you cannot dismiss them (or George Martin) so lightly. They were responsible for what was probably the single biggest paradigm shift ever in popular music and influenced everyone that followed.

Led zeplin I feel nothing
Amon amarth actually most death metal I feel nothing.
Metallicas new stuff. I can't say st anger I like two songs off that album. I don't really care for death magnet and I really feel nothing for that latest thing.

I use to feel nothing with jimi hendrix but thats a story on its own.
