This is exactly the effect I am talking about. I don't know how they do that or if it is even deliberate.
I see others get excited about it though and then I wonder if I have a screw loose.
I think it may get interesting if you take enough valium.
Seriously, I find a lot of people don't listen to music or express enthusiasm for the music BECAUSE of the music and the experience they get from it. It's a fashion thing, a commodity, this year's model.
Which maybe is OK. You can go to one of these pubs I'm taking about and have conversations like
"This music's pretty cool hey?"
"Fully."
"Those drums are so trippy."
"Ja, fully."
"Can I buy you a drink?"
"Fully."
"I love that synthesizer sound, especially when it gets all swirly."
"Rad."
etc
Which is just an updated variation of 60's long-hair talk
"This music's far out hey?"
"I can dig it."
"Those drums are like.... you know?"
"I can dig it."
"Want a toke?"
"I can really dig that."
"That wah-wah pedal is doing stuff to me, man."
"It's like a mantra."
etc
