Hi Guys...
How many of you still have your first guitar?
If not what happened to it/them?
My first two guitars were a Fender Squirer Bullet and a Hohner 300 acoustic.
Sold the Hohner to a friend and traded my Fender for a semi acoustic when I went thru my folk rock phase..
Ive traded and bought new gear and sold it again for a cuple of years now but I will never forget the guitars that I learnt to play on ☹

Dude, that Bullet was so nice... I want to kick your rear for letting it go. After all we went through at 2911 and the airport... *sniff*
My very first guitar was a classical no-namer that I bought from a pawn shop. The guitar was new but it was a real cheap and nasty from what I can recall.
I still remember riding home from the shop on my bicycle carrying the box.
My first electric was a strat style Academy in a natural wood grain finish... This axe became a victim of affirmative shopping while i was overseas. The next day I drove to Orlando to buy my Squier.

I still have my first Guitar, A yamaha Nylon from the 70's. I wish I had kept all my guitars.
I had a Charvel model 3, brilliant blue colour, just didn't like the floyd rose, was my first Electric and I still miss it.
I also bought an Ibanez Concord steel string in 1979 for about R500, was quite frilly and ghastly pick guard, was stolen in the defence force.

Still have and play on my first guitar. I reckon this guitar is over 6 years old easy. Samick Les Paul.
This year December I am buying a new amp and next year I will consider a new guitar or repairing my current one.

My first guitar was a suspect classical guitar.
But I really like to think of my first guitar as my Washburn WI-60 Idol, got it about 4.5 years ago. Its black, with gold hardware, theyve since discontinued making em in that color and look. Which is stupid IMO, its the best looking Idol I have ever seen. I still have it, but dont play it too often, the neck isnt as comfortable for lead as my Strat.

my first guitar was a fender squire strat, but i had to sell it to get me epihpone les paul custom

Still got my Hohner steel string acoustic sunburst (retired at my parents place) and my first electric (a 1978 Fender Mustang) which I still play occasionally - last used it on "Rock Evolution" and "Pay2Play", a Nirvana Tribute show ...

My first guitar was a steel string acoustic bought from Bothners Claremont new for R12 (1969). It had f holes and didn't have a name, although I gave it many names none of which I would care to mention here. The action was so high that you had to bend the strings nearly half an octave before you reached the fret. Between my aching fingers I learned to play slide with a beer bottle. One day the thing just starting to come apart at the joints. Luckily my boet was selling his 3rd hand Hofner electric with Red Vinal crocodile skin like finish for a mere R50. My cousin and only guitar student John Mair bought an identical red Hofner from a porn shop in long street and together we went out to conquer the music world with our Hendrix like talent, well at least John did I took up a morbid obsession with architecture and visiting depression clinics instead ?

My first guitar was a Yamaha FG 325 steel string acoustic, bought in 1982 or thereabouts. I still have it, and play it often still. Fortunately it survived my experiments with truss rods before I knew what a truss rod actually was meant to do... Surprising thing is, for me it has a much better sound than my Cort electro-acoustic - the Cort sounds OK plugged in, but the unplugged sound I'm not really impressed with. First electric was an Ibanez RX series from Bothners in 1995...bought when I actually was supposed to go and get groceries ?

I know those! You paid too much! ?
John Mair bought an identical red Hofner from a porn shop
Freudian slip there Rene. LOL. Wait... I knew John - you might just have got it right. ?
FenderBender
Hehe my first was a Yammie C40M bought in 06. The neck feels as wide as a Dunlop SP99 in comparison to my strat ?

@ Alan, Freudian slip indeed I had to put some of John's home videos onto DVD for my uncle after his accident, lets just say I had to do quite a bit of editing - the joys of hedonist Rock stardom ?

My first guitar was a white Ritmiller guitar with a matching amp. Really cheap ass sh#t guitar but it got me hooked on guitar playing. It is actually a good thing that there is companies making budget guitar packages because it gives more people the opportunity to get started at a relatively small price.
