Very, very cool - only thing that slightly puts me off is the double cutaway, but would still love this on my wall

They do! Further to the "is this a Tele" debate I'll be the first to admit that it's probably not. So in the interests of avoiding upsetting the purists out there I'll from now refer to it as a "Bigsby Fender Thinline with a Tele neck, loosely base on a Tele body but with twice the cutouts and neck through body construction". A mouthful but it sounds cool. 8)
The double cutaways are unusual but are not, for me, enough to disqualify the guitar from being a "Telecaster". After all, you get guitars branded as "Les Paul" by Gibson that have a double cutaway, and the Fender Telecaster Bass doesn't look much like the guitar that Jim Campilongo or Brad Paisley play.

Amen! Also look at guitars like the Fender J5 Tele (the Squier has a standard headstock) and the '72 re-issue with the Strat headstock. They're no less Tele than the original but the recipe is slightly different and it works for the instrument. Mine is very different from the perception of what a Tele is but at its heart it's a real Tele with a bunch of seriously cool stuff on it that actually works. For me at least.

Yes... very cool indeed.... it must sound amazing & super lightweight.

Wow. Nice! It's as if their r&d team sat down and asked 'what makes a guitar cool?', and did it. Tele headstock - check. Strat shape - check. Thinline - check. P-90's - check. Bigsby - check. Aaaand cherry on the cake, let's put the Fender name on it. ?

This is not the only double cutaway tele in the world!
Neither is it the only thinline double cutaway.
It IS a tele! Not only because of the headstock!
And its a gorgeous one at that!!!
Very nice! enjoy her thoroughly! ?

Thanks for the input guys. You've made me love her even more. As for the weight, she ain't light. I picked up a Classic Tele Thinline when I test-drove her and it was half her weight. Got a chunky ash body so she takes some holding onto. As for her voice, I can't wait to hear what she does through a proper amp. Sounds wicked through a little Cube 20 but I get the feeling she needs more.

All I can say is those SD P90's are fudging amazing pups - Will make any guitar sing in a full throaty voice ?

now that you are open to suggestions... and instructions... listen to what follows... and agree to everything
I need you to give me your guitar. You don't like it any more and it is a burden for you. I can release you from the burden... give me your guitar and I will take care of everything.
In 5 seconds, you will wake up and send a PM.
5... 4... 3... 2... 1... wake up and send that PM now.

Finally managed to get an id on her. 2004 Fender TC-90 Thinline and probably one of a handful (if that) in the country. Definitely the only one with a Bigsby. Apparently quite rare worldwide in standard form and even more so with the Bigsby and roller bridge, which are after-market. Guess she's a keeper then.................................unless I get an offer somewhere between R9813,76 and R9819,61. :applause:

Where on the guitar does it say "Tele" ?
If it does'nt say so, it ain't one, most definitely doesn't look like one. All Tele's have that distinct body shape, and this one hasn't got it. Be worth your while to look up some info on this one, so you can know what you have. I would've kept the Strat, unless it was perhaps a Squier(?)
Rocker-Gramps
Must agree, it has great pups and looks stunning!
Any identification on the label inside? 8)

Thanks a million!
This guitar had me worried, but now that it's identified, it's prettier than ever!!
I want one!!! :-[
blue42
Yip, I'll sell it if the price is right.

Rocker Gramps, the guitar was identified on the 8th of November, as per my post. Also, the "Is it a Tele?" issue has been resolved in previous posts and the conclusion was that it is to some and to others it's not. I say if you don't care, it doesn't matter.
