Aaaaaaand here she is

'71 Ibanez Thinline tele copy.

Not quite original. oldish replacement plastic knobs and Lp style switch cap. Note the bridge pup being held togethe with Duct Tape...

Lovely, lovely neck. Tuners were replaced with gotohs and one washer is missing. I have a set of oldgold ibanez tuners that will be fitted sometime.

The neck pup is bigger than my other teles. Great bluesy tone though.

Still in good shape, considering she's forty years old. Will open her up and check the electronics when I have the time.

Awesome! :applause: I love those dark-wood-body teles. Are you going to do a couple of fixes (bridge pup etc.?)

chris77

@Vella. Will be swopping out the non-original parts like the knobs and tuners for sure. I have a set of nicely aged Ibanez tuners allready, but not sure where to get old knobs from. I also ordered some Tonerider pups for the bridge, a vintage and a hot classic version. Will try both and see which one works best for me. Won't change the electronics now. Bridge is als fine, the action is a bit low (now buzzes, just personal preference) and the intonation is spot on.

good stuff!!!

i like it for sure!!!!!

A beauty indeed. I had a '76 Ibby J-bass recently... only thinkg I didn't like was the truss rod cover, exactly the same as what you have on the tele. I removed it and only replaced it when I sold it... unlike the rest of the guitar it looked kinda cheap, plasticky plastic and not cut or fitted to look good. Sorry for the negative! Just my opinion, the rest of the bass, as with the tele is KILLER.

indeed a very nice one!
