Bought myself this cute little toy yesterday, Tanglewood TU1 CE:

I saw these at Musicmate when i went to collect my amp...
awesome little ukes!!!

the cutaway is cute, but the amped sound is really good, very natural!

O nice. ? If I may ask, where did get it from? I'm currently looking for a nice Ukelele. Pretoria seems devoid of these things...

Bought it at Music Mate in Cresta. It was somewhat of an impulsive buy. I did go to my favourite shop, Music Connection, first though and while they had a nice variety of Ukes, they only had one which had electronics - a most awesome little replica of an Ovation, complete with the odd sound holes and tupperware body. It was way expensive though and that is not what I had in mind so I headed back to Music Mate.

Having lots of fun with this thing today. All I need to do now is learn how to play the Ukulele ?

Of course you may. It set me back the princely sum of R700. I reckoned it was a good deal considering the RRP on Tanglewood's website is £90. I wasn't really shopping around for a Ukulele but when I saw this one I went home, googled it a little and went to Music Connection to see if they might have a better deal. Then went back and bought it. Had it been much more pricey than R700 I'd have most likely passed.

I foresee a future Ukulele only branch of the monthly contest. Once we all figure out how to play the confounded things of course. ?

I've always wanted to learn to play the banjo as well. Pity they're a bit more expensive. Another instrument I'd love to get my hands on is a mandolin.

It's been good fun so far although I'm just strumming out chords for now. It'll take a while to really get into it the way I am into guitar I guess.
