I just want to say thanks for all the expert information shared here. How else would I have known about Tonerider Pickups. I've just installed (had it done!) a Generator set in my Ibanez and they are truly awesome. We compared it in a test against an Ibanez Jem with dimarzio pickups and the Toneriders blew them away hands down! Much better tone, volume and vibe! The zebras are just so nice looking.

Does anyone perhaps know where I can get pickup rings, I think they're called. The black plastic things that go around the pickups where you put the screws and the springs through.

Those are just called covers I think ?

Well you can get them at any music store I should think?

They're called pickup mounting rings, but you need to be careful as there are subtle size differences and they can also be slanted at an angle on some guitars. ?
best is if you have a sample to work from, take careful measurements or take your old one with to the music store. You can also get them from TerryD.co.za

And yes, it's all got to do with the curve of the bottom.

I can't find any pickup mounting rings in East London at the moment. Tonerider says they will hopefully have more parts before the end of the year but I would like some NOW! ?

There's always eBay if you know what you want - trouble is that sometimes it will take a week, sometimes a few months to get to you. +1 for TerryD.co.za - never used them myself, but sure you will get what you want a lot quicker

I have a small drawer full of them somewhere. Not sure exactly what's there, but tell me what colour you are looking for and I'll have a scratch around and see. You're welcome to whatever I find.

I'm looking for shiny new black ones. I have a friend who regularly orders stuff from ebay so I will ask him to add the few things that I want. My guitar's pickup rings are both are cracked in the middle, both sides facing the bridge of the guitar. I suppose they're meant to be angled like someone mentioned above but mine were straight when we installed them but cracked a few days later.

Be careful! I don't want to be seen as criticizing stores but unlike the fantastic Tonerider pickup range some of the stuff from terry is really cheap and nasty Chinese rubbish! I talk from experience! ?

eBay is a great source! Try this one at stores.ebay.com/philaluthiertools. Just navigate to the bottom of the left-hand-side menu and click on "other".

I can recommend them!

Hmm... didn't have as many as I thought. I only have curved bottom and some badly worn ones in black.

Those are nice but not what I need. My guitar has a curved top (I think that what its called) and I need the angled rings. We placed the eBay order this morning using dan77's link. Thank you! ?

I hope so for your sake, but that is best case scenario. I tend to give it about a month for stuff to arrive - sometimes its within a week, sometimes 2 months, just the luck of the drawer
