I am really proud about being able to play guitar

I was just thinking how lucky I am for being able to play guitar ?

I mean I have put so much time in it and no one can take that away. I will never stop playing.
It makes me feel so awesome :-[

its a great gift to have,
ive made many parties last much longer
ive made people that cant get along suddenly start singing together
ive always had something to turn when the world turns on me
and ive always liked being able to say,"hey, i can play that!"

been able to play guitar, started as a dream, but turned out to be a lifestyle i wont change very soon

Won't happen.

Read interviews by whoever you think has mastered the guitar and it always turns out that they see areas in which they can improve (or about which they know nothing at all).

Think of it as the gift that keeps on giving.

Sometimes I'm so surrounded by guitar players that I get to assuming anyone can do it. Then you stop and think about how few and far between music stores are. How they don't sell guitar strings at the super-market. And you get to realise that it's actually a very small number of people who have playing an instrument going for them. This is an important consideration when feeling down about classically trained people who play better than you ever will ?

Yeah totally. I also at one point thought a lot of people played. Half of the guys say they are great guitarists and then they play :-\ ? soz thats bad of me. But I get angry when people brag and they can't back it up.

I have had a lot of people ask me to teach them to play but they never want to put time in it and I get cross.

Agree. Still gives me a thrill. I actually learnt to play guitar, unbelievable.

teaching someone to play isnt fun if you taught yourself.
No one seems to realize how much time it takes to just get a simple chord progression down.
Then again there is nothing better than picking up your guit when you get home and just noodling a bit.

It really is a gift that keeps giving.

It gives you sleepless nights, sore hands, an angry missus and gas puts a nice dent in your cashflow.

Its AWESOME.

BE PROUD.
We belong to a pretty exclusive club I reckon.
I mean, think about it, it doesn't matter how good you are, you belong to the same club as Hendrix, Holly and Mustaine.
Now that's a good feeling.
What a talent to have bestowed on us.
I see all guitar players as a special breed.
My favourite Slayer song is 'Americon' on World painted blood. Has a more old school rocky feel to it.
Anyway.....enjoy! ?
