Hey guys,
I recently bought a 2nd-hand Mesa Boogie Express amp at the Tom's sale.
It didn't come with the 3 button footswitch and since I maxed out my budget, ordering one online for $110 is a bit pricy.
The original footswitch works with a 5-point midi connector.
The amp also has the option to connect the 3 functions to a latching-type footswitch with 3 individual mono cables.
All of the generic and other 3 button footswitches use a TRS cable to connect and using a simple adapter would split into only 2 mono channels.
Does anyone know of any replacement latching-type footswitches that would be suitable for the job?
Alternatively, would it just be plausible to take a 3 button footswitch and try to rewire it to either use the midi cable or 3 individual mono channels?
Thanks,
Any help would greatly be appreciated! ?

It should be possible to wire up three switches into a 5-pin DIN plug (the plugs used for MIDI connectors), but you'd need to know what the pinouts are. See if you can find a diagram. Failing that, plug a din plug into the socket and bridge between the earth pin and each of the four contacts and see which does what. You can either adapt a three switch footswitch or just buy a box, a plug, three latching switches and some four core shielded cable and make your own from scratch.

R1500 for an original Footswitch!!
Looks like I'm gonna be building my own...
Pedalpartsplus.com can provide all the parts, drill the enclosure and powder coat it, all to custom specifications for about $25. Now that's a good deal ?
