Hey Alan. I am by no means a guitar techi, but is this something I can do myself? It seems like such a quick process, and may not be my effort to drive all the way out to let someone else do it.
I have 2 questions
1) Does it need an Allen key to adjust the truss rod?
It needs some kind of key. The guitar should have left the factory with a key. It's
usually an Allen key, but I have seen different arrangements. I had a Taylor where the "key" was actually a socket. I've seen different sizes of key used as well.
And really this is a job that you can learn to do yourself. It's not hard. The important thing is to take it slowly, to slacken or tighten the rod by small amounts at a time.
