A job for a pro - the slot must be routed out wider towards the first fret (and with a flat bottom, so you need a specialised jig.

I'm not a huge fan of the LSR. They are lower friction than a bleached bone nut, but tend to get a bit noisy and sometimes sticky as they wear. A Black Tusq nut is even lower friction, much cheaper and doesn't require any modifications to your guitar.

I installed a Black Tusq on my strat when my original nut cracked; it was a simple, well explained installation (as per their directions). ?
Great sound . . . . b'leve me!!!!!!!!!

AND, I hav'nt broken a string since!!!!1
