Emerging Sounds Battle - Finals

The emerging sounds battle of the bands is the oldest battle in SA.

We're jamming at the finals at Rockabillys in Edenvale, I'm a free state dude so I've never been there ?
What can we expect at the venue?

If anyone can give me an idea I would appreciate it..

Its a horrible Grotty hole in the wall.... with bad sound and bad atmosphere..... Sad to tell you it so bad

Further the battle of the bands has really gone down in past years... I played the finals a few years back and it was in the hige auditorium at Emporers Palace....

they must have really downgraded in the past years

So it's closer to CBGB's than Madison Square Gardens... who cares. Play the DAMN HELL out of any venue you're in and have fun!

A place is only as good as the people that are there on the night. I had a couple of good times there before the name change.

yeah its a dive , yeah its grotty , yeah the toilets could do with some fresh paint an maybe a seat or 2 bUT damn it rocks great when things go right. the best jols generally are the less fancy spots eh...

The conditions are the same for everyone so no point in fretting about that eh ..yes yes terrible pun

and i am sure it will get a rocking crowd.

Never felt the urge to actually go there though. I may be "Scale from the Vale" but I have my dignity ?

When is this happening by the way?

Its on the 3rd of December 2011. Gonna be a large event since there's bands playing from about 3pm to 12. I hope there's people though! So you better come support ? maybe chat a bit?

Dont know the venue, but the emergings sounds comps rocked. We won one a few years back and played another final of one at emporers place... Good times!
