Krrrrrunch... ballsiest (can I say that?) guitar sound ever

Post your favourites... For my money this intro is hard to beat:

X-rated Bob wrote The second Black Crowes album was full of great bally, krrrrrunchy guitar tones. Rich Robinson is mighty on that album - playing wise and tone wise.

We shall welcome you to Cape Town with open arms (and in Singemonkey's case, open legs)...

That's that sorted then. I'm heading for Hotazel.

Love the intro and verse tone on this simple song by Collective Soul. Not one of my favourite bands, but stumbled on them on my iPod the other day and they've done some pretty solid work.

This has got to be up there...

Good one... who's heart doesn't beat faster at some point in this number?

@ Giggsy... these guys wrote quite a few solid songs but undeservedly got lumped in with a lot of lame bands because of vaguely similar style.

bliksem wrote OK I'll bite, cool debate! These one's are all worthy I think although the ballsiest guitar sound award will always go to Mr Iommi IMHO

Thanks to you I had What's The Frequency pop into my head at 5 this morning... ?

Nothing wrong with that?! Great way to start the day ?

Some excellent submissions but so far, my vote would be a toss up between Joe Bonamassa's Walkin' Blues and Ram Jam's Black Betty.

And raise you, a Walkin' Blues

Hmmm... two votes to Joe B. And yet, it's not him... since that tequila is going begging I'm going to have to award it to myself.

This, my friends, is surely the undisputed ballsiest guitar sound ever. Put on your headphones and wait for just past the 32 second mark...

Of course yes! How did we all pass this one over? ???

Malkav

To me it'd probably have to be this...

Hard to believe it's a POD....

Or possibly the guitar tone in this...

I also love this one...

and one can never go against the Petrucci monster and his enormous Mesa tones....

I think I essentially just like lots of mids really...
