Just LOVE Seasick Steve. My band play one of his numbers and I just recently bought his latest album "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" and it is my current favourite album. He played a guitar made of Moris hub caps on Top Gear as well.

Seasick Steve is legendary.

I recently built 2 diddley bows and a stompbox (not the effects kind, the plain old wooden box kind, for replicating the sound of stompin yo foot on the front porch). Really simple and cheap to make. Amazing how much fun you can have with 1 string and glass slide.

First song I taught myself on my d-bow was Seasick Steve's song aptly named "Diddley Bow"

I got a clip-on pickup that attaches itself nicely to the mini whiskey bottle I have as the nut, so I add some overdrive and get some serious growl out of it.

Planning on starting a cigar-box guitar project soon.

I'm a big fan of this album as well. Very "bouncy" stuff, can't get enough of it ?

Does your stompbox have any form of pickup in it? I also want to make one, but want to be able to make it audible when I plug my acoustic into my amp as well...

Not yet, I haven't been able to find any piezo buzzers here in PE but I ordered a few of them from Yebo electronics (http://www.fort777.co.za/) as well as some input sockets and should hopefully have them soon. Then after some minor soldering it should be ready to be amped up. I'll let you know how it goes.
