Lou Reed and Metallica clip

Jack-Flash-Jr

First clip from upcoming album Lulu:

I really like it... most of the reaction has been negative but I'm more a Lou Reed than Metallica fan (that said Ride the Lighting is awesome) and the fan reaction seems to be from the Metal side.

Hammeron

Dieing to hear it to be honest. ?

flatfourfan

oi vey..........I assume that I can be honest here?..........total garbage.

Seventhson

Its not metallica but I kinda liked it. But its not metallica.

?

That's cool... I happen to be one of those guys who can listen to Lou Reed do pretty much anything (I even gave Metal Machine Music a spin! It's like early Fantomas ?)

I assume that this is the same lou reed who does perfect day on the movie trainspotting??? Some of his stuff I can handle, but listening to him do metallica is like old Sea Lion (Celene Dion) doing you shook me all night long from AC/DC.

No no... he's not doing Metallica - in many ways he's heavier than the big M.
Check out and listen all the way through:

Both these are from around '69 or '70

Bonus ('cause this is my fave VU):

Ok, one more... my fave M song with great Trujillo paying, nice James vox etc. Plus Lou on the second number... (btw it's not boooo, it's the traditional Loooooooou) Kirk does a great Sweet Jane solo imho. Check out James' grin as Ozzy opens Iron Man...

flatfourfan

hmmmmmmmm, the crowd sucked in that one.........lol.

No wonder the other bands are saying that Metallica lost the plot.

Seventhson

looooooooool. Yeah kinda terrible. I think metallica should just give up.

I am more excited about the new megadeth album public enemy number 1.(I think)

joealien22

I said "I wanna be a singer like Lou Reed"
"I like Lou Reed" she said sticking her tongue in my ear
"Let's go, let's sit, let's talk"
"Politics go so good with beer"

Man Lou Reed is amazing and so is the Velvet Underground. Thanks for the vids. All that is missing is Venus in Furs.

That said, I didn't really enjoy the Metallica/Lou Reed collaboration snippet. I like em both, but not together.

...or go back to their roots.
And a big one up for the mighty Megadeth! ?
{I'm not gonna slag LuLu till I have heard the whole album tho.}

Ray

Nah, dunno what Lou Reed wants to mix with Metallica for. Not a rock'nroll animal anymore. It's like if Iggy Pop did a LP with Westlife.

Metallica are to rich and well off to go to their roots. They don't have that anger in them anymore.

Dave he always has that anger. He hates the state so that always fuels him.
