Ahhh the pain of ordering the wrong parts - 2mm too short!!!

Skylark

Got a Epiphone ES-335 fat neck that I have been slaving over for about a year.

Just got my replacement goodies from Stewmac....
Was elated when the postal slip arrived today - that warm glowing feeling , my baby was almost gona be back together again

Pretty much all new hardware - Gotoh Bridge , Aluminium Tailpiece & Tuners , bone nut
Open the box , fondle the Alu tailpiece , slip a Gotoh Vintage tuner into the headstock to admire the Tulip button tuners
Bluddy tuner posts are about 2mm too short..... Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Everything went suddenly very very lame and subdued
Booohoo hoo ☹

Maybe they were too short becuase my neck is a fat neck Dot , but everyone online was mentioning they were using them for Les Pauls , why is my headstock soo thick damn!!!

But all's better I can't take things too seriously ?

If anyone has some Gotoh or Grover Tuplip tuners with the approx 26/28mm long posts please let me know!
I have some Gotoh Vintage tuners with 24.1mm posts for sale...

I don't know what's up with that. But as it happens my problem was exactly the opposite. Tuner posts too high. So if you want a set of Grover self-locking tuners like this:

http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tuners/Guitar,_solid_peghead_tuners/Grover_Tuners/Grover_Full-size_Locking_Tuning_Machines.html

So these are made for thicker headstocks apparently. Which I didn't notice when getting them for my LP. As a result they're basically unused. If you want 'em, PM me. I'll give 'em to you cheaper than new and with only local shipping costs.

Do I feel a swap coming on here?

Just a little worried on the weight - the Tulips are half the weight almost to the gram , it did have very similar grovers on originally though

That would be ideal (although I was pining for Tulips - I do soo love them!)
any chance of that happening!?

singemonkey

Replied to the PM. I already sorted my tuner problem already unfortunately so I'm looking to sell this set of unused tuners on.

Yes. Grovers are heavy and locking Grovers are, I suspect, heavier still. If weight's an issue and you can find another tuner with a tall capstan that might be a better way to go.

I have some tulip tuners I took off a custom shop LP. Not sure if I have the tuner bushings though.

My rocksongs really sound the part , which I didn't initially think they would be , but that was before I plugged it in.

Thats true too ?
My bridge pickup was designed with mahogany bodies in mind (their site says so too) and is quite bright in the guitar so Im thinking of going for a pickup change and not selling...I think my amp needs to hurry up and get fixed so I can tell for sure...but I should know after I put it through that lionheart...I think I should call it the Lion I Heart...<3
