This was brought down from JHB by a friend on friday 8)
1969 Marshall Super PA 100w "plexi" , currently running with two of its tubes pulled to bring it down to 50w as thats what my cab is rated at. It uses 6L6 tubes, Reinhards uses EL34s so will be switching to those once I get new ones. edit: is this doable? some googling shows it just needs to be rebiased for them?
Things that need to be done:
1.) New tubes and rebias (anyone have two EL34s lying around? ? )
2.) possibly caps, it hums and buzzes a bit
3.) indicator light is blown, need to find a new one but its a 6v AC incandescent tiny globe which I'll need to find a replacement for
4.) its missing its rear cover, not a major trainsmash as it runs properly hot so will probably help in the long run but I'll try and make a replacement
5.) badge is missing. I got a replacement with the amp but I need to remove the broken off bits of plastic in the head to fit it
If this was the size of the Bassman it would be perfect, will hold on to it until I can find a proper JMP 4 hole 50w plexi 8)
