Sad news indeed.
Amongst other things stolen, 12 Tokais were stolen, including a bunch of Premium Series models.
So, if anyone's offered Tokais under suspicious circumstances please let Andy know.

Damn! They must be planning on selling them off if they took that many. They'll either ship them out of the country to a neighbouring state or move them via classifieds.
Please ask Andy to send me the particulars of all the gear stolen and I'll post it for all members to keep an eye out.

Seriously though, that sucks big time. Sure we will all keep an eye out (even more so than normal) for bargain Tokais. Isn't Zohn's Larivee hanging on the wall at Andy's as well? Hell, hope they didn't steal that as well hey.

I must say though, while this is probably a rare case, this is the reason i wont sell my stuff by leaving it on a shops floor!
Just sad that this stuff happens. i suppose you cant really cry or be super pissed about it, only glad that it wasnt an armed robbery in shoptime!

This is horrible news. I'm always on classifieds so it will be of help if we could have a number to call in suspicious Tokai sellers. Unfortunately I doubt that the thieves will keep them in SA.

Yep. The alarm went off and Andy got a call. He told the armed response unit to intervene. The crooks were probably in the shop for no more than 10 minutes.
Look out for lots of "reliced" Tokais. They took them out of the shop in a big hurry and none of them were in cases.

Wasnt it just a little while back that Turnkey got whacked? Isnt Turnkey quite close to Andy's? Well, Randburg side of town? I know where Andy's is but never been to Turnkey. I dont know, you've got to look at patterns and then at people. So my guess would be that this stuff is planned. The people know what they want to get and pretty much know how much time they have to get it. And they probably moved it to where it needs to be already. Now they wait a while because maybe there's a state of high alert. And like things go, people start to relax and then the guys doing this stuff might have a go again.

damn, that is a shame. was wondering why they hadn't phoned/texted to let me know giggsy's, sorry, my sg was ready to collect. man. they do say the worst things happen to the nicest people. on the up side, at least no-one was attacked or injured... jeez. now i know i've heard that phrase a few times too many.

I sure felt great when I was at Andy's this morning.
First I had to look at the empty walls where the Tokais once hung, and then the dude from the SAPS fingerprint department arrived and started "painting" a few of the remaining Tokais black with his fingerprint powder. ?....sure hope that black gunge wipes off easily.

I had my first encounter with a Tokai (Love Rock) today, no not at a shadey wharehouse downtown, but at music connection.
Really nicely built guitar, I didnt get a chance to plug it in though :-\.

Chatted to Andy. 3 guys were in on Thursday looking for a guitar. Mathew showed then quite a few. its a coincidence that the ones Mathew McGibbon showed them including Non Tokais were the ones stolen. As far as I know no amps were stolen and the Tills were left alone. Andy is pretty upset about the theft. regards the larrivee mentioned in one of the posts as far as I know that was not stolen. Apart from the Tokais stolen were other guitars, not sure of the specifics, Andy will be able to provide that.
